Dante Museum is located within the Franciscan convent complex -
owned by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna -on the first floor placed on the west side of the building overlooking the Tomb of Dante. Next to the Museum, there is theLibrary and dantesque center of the conventual friars minor.
The museum offers a journey through the works, life andmemory of the best-known poet in the world.
An immersive and emotional journey, between history and images, to make
experience and knowledge of human adventure, of the artistic career of the poet, his Comedy and the
artistic, comedy and following fortune.
It is certainly an experience that involves the visitor with an offer of content that can be
modulatedrespecting the needs of the use, but it is maintained
with great respect the attention to heritage and the aspects of the
contents. In fact, an attempt is being made to give to an international audience
and varied an "emotional" experience, but also "cognitive"; with a
rationalized use of interactivity and multimedia to tell
life and work of Dante, and a significant presence of finds and
objects of great suggestion, such as the cassette in which the friars
hid the bones, and the ark in which they were exposed in 1865, after the
their fortuitous finding.
